- Graduate of Claremont Mens College.
- Initial training and experience with International CPA firm (ok, it was Arthur Anderson when it was the class of the profession - before it imploded).
- Spent several years over two stints at the prestigious entertainment-only CPA firm handling A-list Hollywood clients. Actors, directors, producers, Studio Heads an recording artists. Service, Service and more Service was the focus.
- Qualified as a Certified Fraud Examiner. Responsible for forensic accounting engagements of the two largest white collar crime prosecutions in the history of Ventura, CA.
- Palius + O'Kelley LLP CPA's formed in 1993.
- Has been inside companies as CFO with operational authority. Knows what it takes to run a company.
- In 1995, Palius + O'Kelley LLP CPA's made Business Consulting the cornerstone of a boutique CPA firm specializing in helping area businesses achieve increased profitability, cash flow and value. Substantial amounts of time and money have been invested in training, technology and software.
Personal
Currently on the boards of Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics, Santa Barbara Jewish Federation, Santa Barbara Executive Roundtable (SABER) and Premier Professionals of Santa Barbara.
Previously served as Treasurer and Executive Board Member of Congregation B'nai B'rith in Santa Barbara.
Prior to that, Treasurer of the Tri Counties Chapter of the Risk Management Association, a national association of senior bank credit and lending officers. The only nonbanker to hold such a position up to that time.
Until two back surgeries interrupted such activities, was a national level powerlifter in his age and weight class.
In August 1999, won age/class at the AAU North American Powerlifting Championship.
In March 2000, won the California Bench Press and Deadlift Championship and in November of 2000 placed second in the AAU World Powerlifting Championships.
Father of three wonderful kids. Grandfather of three more wonderful kids. (If I'd had kids this cute, I would have had more kids!)
